When a player goes out, the round ends. The total score for the round is calculated by adding the value of all melds and laid-off cards, then subtracting the value of any unmelded cards remaining in hand. The player with the highest score wins the round.

Scoring in 500 Rum is cumulative across multiple rounds. The first player to reach or exceed 500 points wins the game. In case of a tie, an additional round is played to determine the winner.
