Duck Hunt is a classic light gun shooter video game.

In Duck Hunt, players shoot at ducks that appear on-screen. Ducks appear either solo or in pairs, and players have three shots to take them down before they vanish. Points are awarded for each successful hit. Players advance to the next round by shooting the required number of ducks in that round; otherwise, the game ends.

The game becomes more challenging with each round: targets move faster, and the minimum number of ducks needed to progress increases. Players earn points for every duck hit and receive bonus points for clearing all ten targets in a single round. Duck Hunt tracks the highest score achieved during a single session, but the record is lost when the game is turned off.
