After a long-awaited hiatus, Fortnite has triumphantly returned to the U.S. Apple App Store for iPhone and iPad users. Epic Games joyfully announced the news through a post on X/Twitter, signaling to mobile gamers that they can once again dive into the exhilarating world of this popular battle royale game. The reintroduction of the Fortnite iOS store page mirrors its appearance from its departure in 2020, now proudly proclaiming, "Fortnite is back!"

Fortnite is BACK on the App Store in the U.S. on iPhones and iPads... and on the Epic Games Store and AltStore in the E.U! It’ll show up in Search soon!

While some U.S. Apple users might initially struggle to find Fortnite through the App Store's search function, Epic assures that this will soon be resolved. In the interim, you can access its revived store page directly. EU gamers can also enjoy Fortnite, available for download through the Epic Games Store and AltStore.

The return of Fortnite to iOS devices marks the conclusion of a tumultuous chapter between Epic and Apple. The conflict began in August 2020, when both Google and Apple removed Fortnite from their platforms following Epic's introduction of an update that lowered V-Bucks prices and implemented a direct payment system. Epic justified this move as a response to what they termed "exorbitant" store fees imposed by Apple and Google.

The ensuing legal battle, which kept Fortnite off official stores for millions of players, lasted years. The saga neared its end when Epic CEO Tim Sweeney announced in April that Fortnite would return to the iOS App Store in early May, following a ruling by a U.S. Federal District Court in California. Despite a last-minute delay caused by Apple's continued resistance, Fortnite has now re-emerged on iOS devices after a five-year absence.

Players downloading Fortnite on their Apple devices can now choose to buy V-Bucks either through the Epic Games Store or via in-app purchases. For instance, opting for the 2,800 V-Bucks pack priced at $22.99 allows users to pay Epic directly, earning a 20% rebate ($4.60) to be used on other Epic offerings.
