Hearthstone Unveils Lost City of Un'Goro in New Update

The Lost City of Un’Goro expansion is set to arrive on July 8th, bringing with it a wealth of new content for Hearthstone players. This exciting release introduces 145 fresh cards, a brand-new keyword mechanic called Kindred, and a compelling storyline that dives deep into the mysterious Un’Goro Crater.

Kindred encourages strategic synergy by rewarding you when you play minions or spells with shared types or schools from your previous turn. Alongside this new keyword, Quest cards return—offering powerful Legendary class-specific challenges that begin in your opening hand and unlock unique rewards upon completion.

The narrative follows Loh, a curious Tortollan explorer, as he ventures into the ancient city of Un’Goro, guided by Umbra—a character with secrets of her own. Elise Starseeker also joins the journey, creating an adventurous party filled with both familiar faces and unexpected twists.

New card types enhance gameplay further. Story cards provide insight into past expeditions, while Map cards introduce a Discover mechanic that allows you to select one of three options. If played immediately, you can claim one of the remaining two as an additional reward—adding layers of strategy and exploration to each match.

Expansion Bundles and Exclusive Rewards

Players have multiple ways to jump into the action, including standard Pre-Purchase and Mega Bundle options. Additionally, Blizzard introduces a special Sequence Bundle, available after purchasing the first two bundles. The Mega Bundle includes:

• 80 standard card packs
• 10 golden packs
• Signature and golden Legendary cards
• Four Tavern Tickets
• Exclusive Umbra cosmetic items

A Fresh Take on Arena

Alongside the expansion, Hearthstone’s Arena mode receives a major update. Designed to be more welcoming to newcomers, the reworked system features skill-based matchmaking. Meanwhile, seasoned players can test their mettle in The Underground—a new format offering extended runs and larger rewards for those who prove their strength.
