Build A Rocket Boy, the developer behind the eagerly awaited game MindsEye, has unveiled a fresh trailer, confirmed a $59.99 price point, and detailed the expansive content players can expect at launch. Led by former Rockstar North veteran Leslie Benzies, the studio has set a release date of June 10, 2025, for MindsEye, available on PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

Set in the futuristic city of Redrock, MindsEye offers a tightly crafted linear story campaign where players assume the role of Jacob Diaz, a former soldier with fragmented memories from his mysterious MindsEye neural implant. As Diaz, players will delve into a gripping conspiracy involving rogue AI, corporate greed, unchecked military power, and a looming threat to humanity's survival. The narrative is vividly brought to life using state-of-the-art visuals powered by Unreal Engine 5.

A particularly intriguing aspect of MindsEye is its PC-exclusive game creation system, allowing players to craft their own unique experiences using the game's extensive assets.

Priced at $59.99, MindsEye offers a refreshing break from the typical $70 to $80 AAA game price. For this cost, players will receive a comprehensive package at launch: the linear story campaign, single-player free roam, several missions including the horde mode "Destruction Site Shootout" and combat missions like "Honor Amongst Thieves" and "Friendly Fire," as well as six races, six checkpoint races, and three drone races. Premium pass holders will enjoy an additional horde mode mission and an exotic cosmetics pack.

The pricing of video games remains a hot topic in the industry, particularly after Nintendo's move to $80 for Mario Kart World and Microsoft's planned increase to $80 starting this holiday season. Other companies, such as Gearbox with Borderlands 4, are also facing scrutiny over pricing decisions. Conversely, more affordable mid-range titles like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and the upcoming Mafia: The Old Country from 2K, priced at $50, have seen significant success. MindsEye positions itself as a middle ground in this evolving market.

This includes new missions, challenges, and game assets. The studio emphasizes that the combination of studio-developed content and community creations will keep MindsEye engaging and surprising for decades.

Build A Rocket Boy has also outlined its 2025 content roadmap.
