Monster Hunter Now Tests New Monster Outbreaks Feature
Excitement is building in *Monster Hunter Now* as Niantic unveils a fresh experimental feature known as **Monster Outbreaks**. This new event is currently in testing mode, giving players a sneak peek and an opportunity to provide valuable feedback before it becomes a full, permanent addition to the game. The concept is simple yet thrilling: gather with other hunters, tackle a swarm of monsters, and aim to reach a shared slay count goal—all in a limited time window.
When Is the Monster Outbreaks Testing in Monster Hunter Now?
The test phase for Monster Outbreaks is live from **April 26th to April 27th**, with each session lasting just under an hour. The event will occur **twice daily**, on both Saturday and Sunday, during the following local time slots: **10:00 – 10:59 a.m.** and **3:00 – 3:59 p.m.**
During the event, specific locations on the map will become **outbreak zones**, marked with a unique icon. These zones will be overrun by **8-star Black Diablos**, and it’s up to players to team up and defeat **100 of them** within the one-hour time limit. Importantly, this 100-monster goal is per outbreak point—not a global total—so coordination and teamwork are key to success.
To join an outbreak, players must be at least **Hunter Rank 11**, and only in-person group hunts are valid—party matchmaking is not supported for this event. Each outbreak location features a **sign-up roster**, allowing players to coordinate and plan their participation in advance.
Black Diablos Is Rolling Up with Serious Boss Energy, in Swarm Mode!
Here’s how the scoring works: if you team up with **three other hunters** and defeat a single Black Diablos, each player gets credit for **four kills**. This makes hitting the **100-kill target** a realistic and exciting challenge, especially with a full squad working together.
If your team manages to reach the 100-kill goal before time runs out, you’re not done yet! You can keep hunting for the remainder of the hour, though only **Black Diablos** will spawn during the outbreak window.
What Are the Rewards?
Successfully reaching the 100-kill goal unlocks a solid set of in-game rewards, including:
- 3 x Black Diablos Tailcases
- 3 x Ridges
- 3 x Primeshells
- 3 x Marrows
- 2,000 Zenny
Additionally, if you sign up using the **Outbreak roster system**, you’ll receive a special **Outbreak Test I Medal** as a bonus for helping Niantic test this new feature.
If this sounds like your kind of challenge, don’t miss the chance to participate in the Monster Outbreaks test this weekend. Grab your squad, gear up, and jump into *Monster Hunter Now*, available on the **Google Play Store**.
