MH Wilds Update Introduces Fan Favorite Lagiacrus
The second free title update for Monster Hunter: Wilds arrives soon, as revealed during today's Capcom Spotlight stream. Launching on June 30 (a date that was previously leaked earlier this week), this major content drop brings exciting new additions to the popular hunting game.
The update introduces two fan-favorite monsters: Seregios from Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate and Lagiacrus from Monster Hunter Tri. Lagiacrus, a highly requested returning monster, was known for its aquatic combat in previous games. While underwater battles won't be the focus in Wilds (since swimming combat isn't implemented), the update will still incorporate water-based mechanics and special interactions during the hunt.
Beyond the monster additions, the June 30 update includes numerous quality-of-life improvements and new content: long-awaited layered weapons, enhanced photo mode options, handler customization, a new guitar-themed collaboration gesture (featuring Fender), a free gesture collection, premium cosmetic items, and various equipment additions.
Mark your calendars for two post-launch events: The Festival of Accord: Flamefete seasonal event runs from July 23 through August 6 with exclusive timed rewards. Then on July 30, hunters can test their skills against the formidable Arch-tempered Uth Duna, which comes with its own challenging quest and stunning equipment set.
In our review of Monster Hunter Wilds, we awarded it an 8/10, praising its refined combat mechanics while noting: "Monster Hunter Wilds continues to streamline the series' rough edges in intelligent ways, delivering exhilarating battles while maintaining accessibility for newer players."
This substantial free update requires no additional purchase for current owners of Monster Hunter: Wilds. The content goes live on June 30 - just four days away. For more details from today's Capcom Spotlight, you can find the complete coverage here.
