"Netflix Unveils Kevin Conroy's Final Role in Devil May Cry Anime"
Let the demon hunting begin! Netflix has officially announced the anime adaptation of the iconic video game series Devil May Cry, and fans have been treated to an exciting new trailer. But perhaps the most thrilling news is the posthumous involvement of the legendary voice actor Kevin Conroy, who will lend his voice to the new series.
Conroy, celebrated for his iconic portrayal of Bruce Wayne and Batman in numerous animated projects, takes on the role of VP Baines, a new character introduced in the series. His voice can be heard in the opening of the trailer, adding a poignant touch to the project. Conroy's last acclaimed performance was in Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part 3 in July 2024, and it's heartening to know fans will once again experience his talent following his passing in November 2022 at the age of 66.
Joining Conroy in the cast are Scout Taylor-Compton as Mary, Hoon Lee as White Rabbit, Chris Coppola as Enzo, and Johnny Yong Bosch voicing the protagonist, Dante.
According to Netflix's official synopsis, "Sinister forces are at play to open the portal between the human and demon realms. In the middle of it all is Dante, an orphaned demon-hunter-for-hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck."

The series is being helmed by producer Adi Shankar, who will serve as showrunner. Shankar has a notable track record, having worked as an executive producer on films like the 2012 Judge Dredd reboot, Killing Them Softly starring Brad Pitt, and The Voices with Ryan Reynolds. He's also attached to an Assassin’s Creed adaptation, though its release remains uncertain despite being announced in 2017.
The animation for Devil May Cry is being handled by Studio Mir, a renowned South Korean studio known for their work on The Legend of Korra and X-Men ‘97. The series is set to premiere on Netflix on April 3, 2025, promising a thrilling addition to the anime lineup.
