Days of Our Lives Name-Drops Nintendo RPG in Flirt

In the ongoing 61st season of Days of Our Lives, a surprising nod was given to one of Nintendo's more niche game franchises, catching fans completely off guard.

A recent episode of the enduring soap opera featured Salem University student Aaron striking up a conversation with his classmate Arianna outside his dorm. Hoping to coax her inside, Aaron confidently suggests she could wait in his room and maybe "play Xenoblade on my Switch." Personally, I might have gone with Mario Kart, but to each their own.

To Aaron’s visible surprise—and honestly, everyone watching at home—Arianna actually accepts the offer. She gives an awkward chuckle and steps into his dorm, looking as though she truly didn’t have anything better to do. Aaron seems genuinely shocked his idea actually worked—as he probably should be.

The scene quickly went viral after Nintendeal clipped and posted it on social media, with many Nintendo fans celebrating the sudden recognition for Xenoblade. (And for those still waiting on a new game announcement after last week's Nintendo Direct, hang in there.)

The Xenoblade Chronicles series, developed by Monolith Soft, first launched in 2010 on the Wii. Since then, several sequels and remastered editions have followed. The latest release was an enhanced version of the Wii U spinoff Xenoblade Chronicles X, which arrived on Switch in March—just as fans were growing impatient for the Switch 2.

"This show has run for 61 seasons, and I never paid it any attention until Xenoblade got a mention," wrote Zhenghua Yang, founder of Serenity Forge, the studio behind To the Moon. "That's next-level marketing."

"I know nothing about this series, but Aaron is hands down my favorite character now—no contest," added another fan, AmiibroN.
