Nintendo Switch 2 Price Unveiled
During today's Nintendo Direct presentation for the Switch 2, Nintendo officially announced that the console will be priced at $449.99.
The Nintendo Switch 2 launches on June 5, 2025, and was fully unveiled today ahead of pre-orders beginning on April 9.
"Nintendo Switch 2 represents the next stage in home gaming that can be enjoyed anywhere, building on eight years of play and innovation that started with the original Nintendo Switch," said Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa.
"With new capabilities that broaden the potential for unique gaming experiences, I truly believe the Nintendo Switch 2 marks a significant step forward in our mission to bring joy to everyone Nintendo reaches."
The Nintendo Switch 2 package includes:
Nintendo Switch 2 console, Joy-Con 2 controllers (left and right), Joy-Con 2 Grip, Joy-Con 2 Straps, Nintendo Switch 2 Dock, Ultra High-Speed HDMI Cable, Nintendo Switch 2 AC Adapter, and a USB-C Charging Cable.
The Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle has a suggested retail price of $499.99 in the U.S. This bundle includes the console and a download code for Mario Kart World, which will be available starting June 5, the same day the Switch 2 launches. Since the standalone price of Mario Kart World is $79.99, purchasing the bundle saves you $30 on the game.
Speculation about the cost of a new console is always common, but the Nintendo Switch 2's pricing has been a particular topic of discussion due to the unusual economic climate. As experts noted back in January, factors like supply chain limitations and potential tariffs may have influenced Nintendo's pricing strategy. Still, analysts suggest that the console is likely to sell well at launch, regardless of its price point.
