Pikmin Bloom 3.5th Anniversary Event Is a Throwback to Classic Nintendo Consoles

Pikmin Bloom is set to celebrate its 3.5th anniversary next month, and Niantic is pulling out all the stops to bring back some nostalgic gadgets to the game. The festivities will kick off with an exciting new event starting on May 1st, 2025.

The Update Is a Cool Throwback to the Good Old Nintendo Days!

Over the years, Pikmin Bloom has delighted players with a variety of fun decor, including Pikmin adorned with Mahjong Tiles and Playing Cards. For its 3.5th anniversary, Pikmin Bloom is taking players on a nostalgic journey by introducing classic Nintendo game consoles from the 80s and 90s.

Additionally, a new Playing Card (Clubs Suit) Decor Pikmin will be added, paying homage to Nintendo's origins when they crafted playing cards before venturing into video games. The designs of these cards are inspired by Nintendo’s vintage playing card decks.

The event will run from May 1st until May 31st, 2025, giving you a full month to engage in the missions and collect unique new Pikmin. Completing Event Challenge missions will reward you with random items such as Game Button Cells, seedlings that can sprout into Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 Decor Pikmin, and flower petals.

During the event, Brilliant Mushrooms will appear. By smashing these, you can obtain Mystery Boxes containing Game Button Cells, flower petals, and other goodies. The Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 and Playing Card Decor Pikmin are especially effective at taking down these mushrooms.

Pikmin Bloom 3.5th Anniversary Also Brings Big Flowers in May

May brings a blooming surprise with flowers that can transform into carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, or anniversary roses when you plant red, yellow, white, or blue petals around them.

A nectar update will also be introduced, so that fruit from mushrooms harvested in May will yield nectar for both regular and special flowers, including carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, and anniversary roses.
