The highly anticipated trailer for Rust, the upcoming movie featuring Alec Baldwin, has finally been released. Set amidst the breathtaking backdrop of 1880s Kansas, the film tells the gripping story of Lucas McCalister (played by Patrick Scott McDermott), a young man who accidentally kills a rancher and is subsequently sentenced to hang. However, fate intervenes when his estranged grandfather, the infamous outlaw Harland Rust (Alec Baldwin), stages a daring rescue and embarks on a perilous journey across treacherous landscapes toward Mexico.

Chased relentlessly by U.S. Marshal Wood Helm (Josh Hopkins) and the relentless bounty hunter known as "Preacher" (Travis Fimmel), the duo must navigate not only the unforgiving wilderness but also their own complex relationship. The official synopsis paints a vivid picture of adventure, family ties, and survival against all odds.

The incident occurred when Baldwin was demonstrating how to draw his weapon from its holster. Despite being labeled as a "cold gun" with no live ammunition, the firearm discharged unexpectedly, leading to devastating consequences.[/ttpp]

In the aftermath, charges against Baldwin were dismissed in April 2023, while armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, responsible for preparing the weapon, was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and sentenced to 18 months in prison. First assistant director David Halls pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of negligent use of a deadly weapon and received six months of probation.

Despite the somber history surrounding its creation, Rust made its debut at Poland's prestigious Camerimage Film Festival in November 2024. The film pays tribute to Halyna Hutchins within its credits, honoring her memory. Although Alec Baldwin did not attend the premiere, director Joel Souza was present and delivered heartfelt remarks celebrating Hutchins' contributions to the craft.

Set for theatrical release on May 2, 2025, Rust promises to deliver an intense narrative wrapped in historical drama. To watch the trailer, simply scroll further down this page.
