Fast forward a decade, and this vision has blossomed into Super Nintendo World, a lively and immersive theme park experience. Featuring thrilling rides, interactive elements, enticing gift shops, and character-themed dining, these parks have delighted fans in Japan, Los Angeles, Florida, and are set to enchant visitors soon in Singapore.

As the launch of Universal's new Epic Universe theme park in Orlando, Florida, approaches, along with the exciting addition of the Donkey Kong Country expansion—the first of its kind in America—I had the privilege of sitting down with Shigeru Miyamoto. The legendary game designer behind iconic characters such as Super Mario and Donkey Kong shared insights on the creation of these parks, his collaboration with the next generation of Nintendo game developers, and his enthusiasm for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 console.
