Smite 2 Is Now Free-to-Play
Smite 2's open beta is now live and free-to-play on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store), and Steam Deck. This launch coincides with a significant content update from Titan Forge Games.
A year after its initial reveal, Smite 2, built with Unreal Engine 5, delivers a visually enhanced and mechanically refined MOBA experience compared to its predecessor. Key improvements include a revamped item shop offering greater flexibility and the same core gameplay: 5v5 battles featuring gods from diverse mythologies. Following a successful closed alpha, the game is now accessible to all players.
The open beta introduces a wealth of new content:
- Aladdin: A brand-new god, exclusive to Smite 2, with unique wall-running and revival mechanics.
- Additional Gods: Geb (Egyptian), Mulan (Chinese), Agni (Hindu), and Ullr (Norse) join the roster, bringing the total of new gods to five.
- Joust Mode's Return: The popular 3v3 mode makes a comeback.
- New Map: An Arthurian-themed map adds a fresh environment.
- Conquest & Assault Updates: Existing maps and modes receive updates and refinements.
- Aspects: Optional enhancements for select gods.
Titan Forge Games' creative director has stated that Smite 2 surpasses its predecessor in several key aspects. The team expressed gratitude for player feedback gathered during the closed alpha and promised substantial new content for 2025.
While available on most major platforms, Smite 2 is currently absent from the Nintendo Switch due to performance concerns. However, the developers remain open to a potential release on the Nintendo Switch 2. Smite fans can now download and experience the open beta.
