The previous generation, the Sony XM4, was already an outstanding headphone, but the XM5 introduces key improvements in both noise cancellation and comfort. It features a second processor and double the number of microphones dedicated to filtering out ambient noise. Additionally, the earcups have been redesigned to fit more snugly on the ear, creating a better seal and, as a result, more effective passive noise isolation. The noise-canceling performance is significantly better than the XM4 and rivals any other noise-canceling headset in its price range.
