Squid Game: Unleashed set to receive new characters and events to celebrate season two of the show
Squid Game: Unleashed celebrates Season 2 with exciting new content! Get ready for new characters, a fresh map, and engaging challenges. Plus, earn exclusive rewards by watching the new episodes on Netflix!
Netflix's surprising move to offer Squid Game: Unleashed free to all players, even non-subscribers, paved the way for a smart strategy. This Season 2 update further incentivizes players, particularly Netflix subscribers, to engage with the show by offering in-game rewards for viewing.
Starting January 3rd, experience a new map inspired by the Mingle mini-game from Squid Game Season 2. Playable characters Geum-Ja, Yong-Sik, and rapper Thanos will also debut throughout January.
Geum-Ja and Thanos will have special in-game events on January 3rd and 9th respectively, allowing players to unlock them. Watching Squid Game Season 2 episodes unlocks in-game Cash and Wild Tokens. Watching up to seven episodes unlocks the Binni Binge-Watcher outfit!
Here's the January content calendar for Squid Game: Unleashed:
- January 3rd: New Mingle map and Geum-Ja character launch. The Dalgona Mash Up Collection Event (until January 9th) challenges players to complete Mingle-inspired mini-games and collect Dalgona tins.
- January 9th: Thanos arrives with his recruitment event, the Thanos’ Red Light Challenge (until January 14th). Eliminate players using knives to unlock this character.
- January 16th: Yong-Sik joins the game as the final new character in this update.
Squid Game: Unleashed might be a game-changer for Netflix's gaming ambitions. The free-to-play model, combined with the reward system tied to Netflix subscriptions and show viewership, cleverly supports both the game and the show itself.
