S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Trilogy Gets Next-Gen Upgrade
GSC Game World has unveiled S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy - Enhanced Edition, a next-generation overhaul of the original trilogy launching May 20 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
This enhanced compilation includes modernized versions of Shadow of Chernobyl (2007), Clear Sky (2008), and Call of Pripyat (2009), featuring upgraded graphics, next-gen console optimizations, and improved modding capabilities.
Cross-Generation Benefits
Console owners of the existing trilogy will receive the Enhanced Edition upgrades at no additional cost. PC players get reciprocal benefits - original owners receive the Enhanced Edition free, while Enhanced Edition purchasers gain access to the classic versions.
The complete trilogy bundle sells for $39.99, with individual titles priced at $19.99 each. Note that cross-platform saves aren't supported between PC and consoles.
Performance Options
Next-gen consoles offer multiple display modes:
- Standard modes at 30 FPS and 60 FPS
- Enhanced modes supporting 40 FPS and 120 FPS (VRR displays only)
Graphical presets vary by platform:
- Xbox Series X/PS5: Native 4K/30FPS (Quality), Upscaled 4K/40FPS (Balanced), Upscaled 4K/60FPS (Performance), Upscaled 2K/120FPS (Ultra Performance)
- Xbox Series S: Native 2K/30FPS (Quality), Upscaled 2K/40FPS (Balanced), 1080p/60FPS (Performance)
