Top Jedi Survivors of Order 66 Ranked
This month marks the 20th anniversary of the release of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, the concluding chapter in the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy. The film, released on May 19, 2005, was the last Star Wars movie directed by George Lucas before he sold Lucasfilm to Disney in 2012.
Fans anticipated that Revenge of the Sith would showcase Anakin Skywalker's transformation into Darth Vader, a pivotal moment in the saga. A significant plot point was the fate of the Jedi, resolved through Order 66. This order, part of Emperor Palpatine's sinister plan, compelled Clone Troopers to turn against and eliminate the Jedi they had previously fought alongside during the Clone Wars. Given the thousands of Jedi in service, it was logical to assume that some would escape Palpatine’s purge—beyond the few known to survive into the Original Trilogy.
Among the dozens of Jedi who survived Order 66 and have been introduced in the Star Wars canon, we've compiled a list of the top 10 who left a significant impact. These survivors ranged from short-term survivors to those who lived well beyond the order's execution, with some fates still shrouded in mystery. Each of these Jedi lived to fight another day after Palpatine's infamous command to "Execute Order 66."
For this ranking, we've set clear criteria: characters must have been part of the Jedi Order before Order 66, regardless of their final rank, whether as a Padawan, Jedi Knight, Jedi Master, or even a young Jedi Initiate. This excludes non-Jedi Force users like Maul or Palpatine, as well as those like Jod Na Nawood, who, despite receiving some Jedi training, never officially joined the Order or set foot in the Jedi Temple.
There was some debate about including Asajj Ventress, who was trained by Jedi Master Ky Narec for over 20 years on Rattatak. Despite Narec's declaration of her as his Padawan, Ventress never visited Coruscant or met the Jedi Council, and her later alignment with the Dark Side under Dooku complicates her status. Therefore, we've designated her as an honorable mention.
