Xbox fans can now enjoy several recent Final Fantasy titles, including today's surprise launch of Final Fantasy XVI on the platform.

Later this winter, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will also make its Xbox debut.

After a two-year PlayStation 5 exclusive period since its June 2023 launch (and subsequent September 2024 PC release), the sixteenth mainline Final Fantasy is now available on Xbox Series X/S.

The original Final Fantasy VII Remake launched in 2020 for PlayStation 4, receiving its Intergrade enhancement a year later for PC and PlayStation 5.

This long-awaited Xbox release suggests Final Fantasy VII Rebirth may also arrive on Microsoft's platform in the near future.

IGN's Final Fantasy XVI review praised the game's "excellent story, characters, and world-building that rivals the series' best entries," highlighting its innovative Active Time Lore feature as potentially "setting a new standard for narrative-driven games."

Regarding Final Fantasy VII Remake, IGN noted that while "some dull filler and convoluted additions occasionally hinder the experience, it successfully revitalizes a classic while standing as an exceptional RPG in its own right."
