Players Eagerly Request Oblivion Remastered Patch
*The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered* has been out for over a month, yet fans are still eagerly awaiting an official patch. While the game’s remastered visuals and modern enhancements have been well-received, several lingering bugs and performance issues continue to frustrate players. Many of these issues disproportionately affect console users, making the need for a comprehensive update even more urgent.
Fans Are Looking for an Update
Despite the excitement surrounding *Oblivion Remastered*, Bethesda has remained largely silent regarding future patches. This lack of communication has sparked concern among the community, particularly on platforms like Reddit where players have voiced their frustrations and outlined key areas in need of improvement.
While a hotfix was released just three days after launch, it introduced new problems—most notably, the removal of upscaling options. A follow-up patch attempted to resolve this, but some users reported needing to apply a manual workaround to restore functionality. Beyond graphical issues, the game remains plagued by bugs that impact gameplay. One of the most infamous is the Kvatch bug, which can soft-lock players during a critical quest. Although workarounds exist within the community, Bethesda has not officially addressed the issue.
Despite the absence of updates, many fans remain hopeful that Bethesda will soon release a patch. Community members have compiled lists of desired improvements, including inventory subcategories, better controller shortcuts, and general quality-of-life fixes.
Consoles Need It More
While all players are affected by the current bugs, console users face additional challenges. Performance degradation over time has been widely reported on PlayStation and Xbox versions of the game, with memory management issues likely to blame.
Players experience frequent stutters and glitches, especially in densely populated or visually complex areas. These issues disrupt immersion and make extended play sessions difficult. Despite the growing number of reports, Bethesda has not issued any formal statements or solutions.
In a positive move, Bethesda recently opened a suggestions channel on its official Discord server, encouraging players to submit feedback and ideas for future updates. This open line of communication may signal the beginning of a more active development cycle, though no concrete plans have been announced yet.
Oblivion Remastered Player Paralyzed for 66 In-Game Years
Meanwhile, a curious anecdote emerged from the community when Reddit user Vaverka shared his unusual experience of being paralyzed in-game for an astonishing 66 years—or 2,097,762,304 seconds. The condition was self-inflicted, and Vaverka humorously noted that the duration exceeded Emperor Uriel Septim’s legendary reign over Tamriel.
Though clearly a lighthearted post, many players were intrigued by the mechanics behind the spell. To date, Vaverka has not revealed how he achieved such a long-lasting effect, leaving fans to speculate and experiment on their own.
As players continue to uncover both bugs and secrets within *Oblivion Remastered*, the hope remains that Bethesda will step in with meaningful updates. With the original game having launched nearly two decades ago, fans believe it's time for the developer to ensure the remastered version lives up to its full potential. Let’s just hope the next patch arrives before Vaverka’s character finally shakes off that paralysis.
*The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered* is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S (with Xbox Game Pass support), and PC. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
